NEW YORK A Delta flight out of New York City was halted after a Florida couple traveling with a Great Dane puppy fled the aircraft with the pet using an emergency slide, an airline spokesperson and authorities said Tuesday.
The incident involving Antonio Murdock and Brianna Greco occurred on Monday as the jet was on a runway leaving for a flight from LaGuardia Airport to Atlanta, said the spokesperson, Morgan Durrant.
Witnesses reported seeing a panicky Murdock force open a cabin door and jump out using the emergency chute leading to the runway. He was quickly followed by Greco with the puppy in tow.

Quite a scene on a Delta flight leaving LaGuardia Airport in Queens, New York headed for Atlanta on Monday. Officials say as the plane was taxiing on the runway, two passengers opened a cabin door which activated the emergency slide and jumped out with their service dog. 31-year-old Antonio Murdock and 23-year-old Brianna Greco were both immediately arrested.
A fellow passenger said as flight 462 started moving, Murdock ignored repeated requests to sit in his seat then headed for the cabin door. The pair faces numerous charges including reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. What s something strange/wild you ve experienced on a flight?
