A blue-coloured tree frog found in the Bell Creek wetlands east of Haig Road is a symbol the area needs protection against a proposed 156-unit subdivision along the creek, contends an area resident who discovered the unusual amphibian on her daily walk on nearby trails.
Julie Roberts, a 42-year resident of Briarwood Crescent, said finding the frog shows Bell Creek habitat is home to a wide variety of wildlife and needs to be preserved from further human encroachment.
