Vets had to put little West Highland terrier Lulu to sleep after she was mauled by an Alsatian-type dog. Helen Aggett says she is heart broken. It s like losing a child and I feel quite lost to be honest, she said. Lulu was a wonderful companion. She always made people laugh and was a real character. Lulu, 13, was out for a gentle stroll with her younger Shitzu cross companion Kiki.

Westie dies after Alsatian attack VETS have been forced to put a West Highland Terrier to sleep and a woman suffered serious hand injuries after her pet was attacked in Devizes on Friday (May 7). Wiltshire Police have launched an investigation after being called out to reports that a German Shepherd-type dog had attacked the terrier. The attack took place near Nursteed Community Primary School in Brickley Lane, Devizes. The terrier was rushed to a local vet where it had to be put down because of the severe injuries it sustained. The Westie s owner suffered hand injuries as she tried to prise the terrier from Alsatian s jaws.

Devizes car chase: Chippenham man arrested

Police A man from Chippenham has been arrested after a car chase in Devizes. The 28 year old was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving failing to stop for police, drug driving and possession of cannabis. He has been released under investigation while our enquiries continue. Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident at around 6.20pm on Friday when officers attempted to pull over a grey Mercedes C250 vehicle in Dowse Road, but it failed to stop for police. A pursuit was authorised, with police following the car along a route which included Spitalcroft Road, Brickley Lane, Jump Farm Road, Windsor Drive, Eastleigh Road, Waylands, Cromwell Road and Elm Tree Gardens.
