Broadband Gap News Today

Late in December 2022, KRCU Public Radio spoke with BJ Tanksley, the Director of Broadband Development about the nearly $3 million received in federal grants through the U.S. Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), to enhance the ongoing efforts of the Office of Broadband Development to expand high-speed internet access statewide. Residents are asked to 'map' their broadband access through Jan. 13, 2023.

In a Tuesday news conference, Mayor Brandon Scott said the city is taking a big first step toward closing the broadband gap, using $35 million in American Rescue Plan funding.
