Solar and financial technology firm M-Kopa has raised $75 million (Sh8.5 billion) in equity financing as it seeks to speed up its expansion in Kenya and regional countries.

M-KOPA Solar has raised $75 million in its Growth Equity round. Investors who took part in the funding round include Generation Investment Management, Broadscale Group, LocalGlobe’s Latitude Fund, HEPCO Capital Management, CDC Group, and LGT Lightrock. The funding now brings the company’s total equity funding to $190 million.
