The Summit High School wrestling season ended in difficult fashion Saturday at the 3A Region 1 meet in Pagosa Springs. Grappling with some of the state’s best veteran wrestlers, 120-pound Tigers sophomore PJ Trujillo advanced furthest in the regional bracket before back-to-back losses concluded the previously undefeated wrestler’s season. Moffat County wrestling sure knows how to bounce back in a big way. Nearly one week after a tough weekend in Palisade in a quad dual, the Bulldogs hit the mat Thursday night in Steamboat for a triangular dual against the host Sailors and the Middle Park Panthers. Back on the mat for the first time in nearly two weeks, the Moffat County Bulldogs’ wrestling team beat the Grand Valley Cardinals and lost to the Meeker Cowboys in a triangular dual at Meeker High School Thursday night.
