Wind advisory continues for the central coast Wednesday

A high wind warning will remain in place for the south coast region through 6 a.m. Wednesday as wind speeds will continue to gust near or just below 50 miles per hour. Once the warning expires, the south coast will still be in for a breezy day as northwesterly winds could reach close to 25 mph through Wednesday evening. As for San Luis Obispo County and northern Santa Barbara County, peak winds will range from 25-35 mph. As a result, a wind advisory is in place for San Luis Obispo and northern Santa Barbara County from noon to Thursday at 9 p.m.
Marine layer is set to linger along the coast Thursday

Onshore flow kept most of the beaches socked in with marine layer Wednesday, and that will likely be the case again Thursday.

As of 3 a.m., mid to high-level fog was already filling in along the coast over San Luis Obispo County, and the dense fog was beginning to cover the south coast areas.
Some areas will be slightly cooler Friday but the inland valleys will remain warm

The ridge of high pressure that is part of the reason was unseasonably warm Thursday continues to bring warmer weather to the central coast.

Ahead of the afternoon, skies will be mostly clear across the central coast with the exception of Lompoc where some patchy fog is developing.
