Broome County is saying goodbye to its mass vaccination site at SUNY Broome.

County Executive Jason Garnar says the final second doses of vaccine will be administered by the end of the day June 9 and the site at the BCC Ice Center will close. The Democrat says after the last dose is given, Broome Emergency Services and Health Department officials will be packing up the syringes, vials, tables, curtain partitions and any other signs of the operations that began at the ice rink at the campus in the Town of Dickinson in January. He says by Friday, no one will know there was ever a vaccination site at the rink.

Below is a list of sites that Binghamton University students can visit in order to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

The New York state vaccination site in Johnson City is offering the Pfizer vaccine. Appointments can be made online here [https://am-i-eligible.covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/]. For their first shot, students should bring photo identification such as a driver’s license, proof of eligibility such as a student ID or work permit and their insurance information or insurance card.
University Union to provide COVID-19 vaccinations as eligibility expands Provided by epass.ny.gov The Excelsior Pass, a free and voluntary platform that allows residents to demonstrate proof of vaccination or negative test results through a QR code, is not currently required at BU.

As COVID-19 vaccine distribution continues to expand in the United States, Binghamton University students will soon get their turn.
On March 29, New York State Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the expansion of COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to New York residents aged 30 or older by March 30, and residents aged 16 or older will be eligible for the vaccine by April 6 at 8 a.m. According to Ryan Yarosh, senior director of media and public relations at BU, the University plans to begin offering the vaccine in the University Union.

The County recently received additional doses of the Pfizer vaccine and is encouraging eligible residents to sign up for an appointment at gobroomecounty.com/hd/coronavirus/vaccine. People who can’t access the internet can call 211 for assistance.
As of 5 a.m. March 5, there were appointments available throughout the day into the afternoon on the county website but officials said they expected appointments to fill quickly.
