Stover photo Brown County BROWN COUNTY Law enforcement authorities are investigating the CEO/RN of a Kansas hospice care facility for alleged drug and sex crimes.Just after 10:30 p.m. Sunday, the Brown County Sheriffs officearrested 48-year-old Jeremy Stover 48 of Hiawatha on requested charges that include multiple offenses of Sexual Battery, Promoting the Sale of Sexual Relations, and Possession of Narcotics, according to Brown County Sheriff John Merchant.The arrest followed the execution of multiple search warrants involving digital media and social media platforms. Many hours were spent by the Brown County Sheriff's Office and Brown CountyAttorney on the investigation, which remains ongoing. Stover is CEO of Freedom Hospice, 1705 Oregon Hiawatha, according to the company web site. He is being held on a bond of $50,000.

Deputies arrested 31-year-old Latisha Campbell of Fairview was arrested on a $2500 Brown County Probation Violation warrants and requested charges of Possession of Meth, Possession of Opiates, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Felony Obstruction.They also arrested 40-year-old Austin Cook of Hiawatha on requested charges of Possession of Meth, Possession of Opiate, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Felony Obstruction.Both remain in custody, according to online jail records.
BROWN COUNTY The Brown County Sheriff's office reported Friday that had 6 registered offenders make complaints that they havebeen notified by phone stating they need to come to the Sheriff's office togive a DNA sample, according to Sheriff John Merchant.The offender was supposed to keep in contact with the caller and the offender would be charged $1000 for the test kits for beinglate. Another stated that "his grandmother received a call stating hewas out of compliance." The phone number that showed up on caller ID was 785-380-7717 and when called, an individual stated he was from the Brown County Sheriffs office located in Kansas. The sheriff's office is currently investigating this scam and forwarding to the Kansas Attorney General's office for assistance.Registered offenders know the Brown County Sheriff's office does not conduct business this way.
