Hyderabad, Dec 1 (IANS) A voter turnout of 70.66 per cent was recorded in the polling for Telangana Assembly elections held on November 30, the Election Commission of India has said.

The exit polls have belied the general buzz- created courtesy the media and disparate voices from the ground- on which party is winning in which state. If they go right, the impact of these Assembly elections- which have already been declared the semi-finals to the Lok Sabha polls by the political pundits- will be greater than anticipated.

This comes a day after the state went to polling on November 30 and the exit survey polls predicted an edge for the Congress party.

As Telangana assembly elections concluded on Thursday, numerous exit poll results indicating the polling outcome were released yesterday.
