The ruling BRS party launched a critique against the BJPs announcement of appointing a leader from the backward class (BC) as the Chief Minister of Telangana after the upcoming assembly polls. The BRS party pointed out that the Central government has not yet given its approval to the request for establishing an OBC (Other Backward Classes) welfare ministry.

"We've upheld our promises in Karnataka. But has KCR fulfilled the promises he made over the last decade?" he asked. 

Hyderabad, Oct 28 (PTI) Dismissing some survey reports suggesting that there would be a hung assembly in Telangana after the November 30 polls, BRS MLC K Kavitha said on Saturday that her party is going to triumph in the elections while Congress and others win only in surveys.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah pledged that the BJP would appoint a leader from the Backward Classes as Telanganas chief minister if the party wins the upcoming state assembly elections. Speaking at a rally in Suryapet, he urged voters to support the BJP. Shah criticized the Congress and ruling BRS as dynastic parties and accused Telanganas current CM of not delivering on his promises, including appointing a Dalit leader as chief minister and granting three acres of land to Dalits.

Addressing a rally in Palair, K Chandrasekhar Rao, BRS Chief and also the CM of Telangana told the people that if Congress comes to power post the assembly elections in Telangana, the party will get rid of welfare schemes like Rythu Bandhu and free power to farmers. KCR further stated that he is not making any promises for the sake of elections but would like to give wealth to the people.
