Per the release, El Pomar Trustees approved $80,000 allocated to 10 nonprofit organizations and government entities in the Northeast region at the Foundation’s December Trustees meeting. “It’s a late Christmas present,” said Chamber Executive Director, MaKyle Mares. Mares was elated about the funding and said the plan is to put it towards programming and events. “It’s a substantial amount,” Mares said. It was a short Brush City Council Meeting on Monday evening, lasting only 10 minutes, but the council heard about plenty of events happening this week as well as some items coming before them to start the new year. The meeting started with Community Development Director Tyler Purvis informing the board of a recommendation to appoint MaKyle Mares to the Historic Preservation Board.
