GBAD To Open $5 Million Boise Aquatics Center
As someone who has recently taken to swimming and fallen in love with it, this is exciting news for Treasure Valley swimmers and those who would like to try it!
In their Wednesday meeting, the Greater Boise Auditorium District heard from three local swimmers, Ryan Stratton, Jeff Erwin and Melanie Rubocki who proposed a new state of the art aquatic center.
A trio of swim enthusiasts has banded together to build a swimming-pool center they say could meet the growing need for more pools in the Treasure Valley. The trio Ryan Stratton, whose father is a former president of USA Swimming; Jeff Erwin, the swimming coach at Boise High School; and Melanie Rubocki, the managing partner of the Perkins Coie law firm in Boise say they have already raised $1 million toward the project and scouted potential sites.

The Chillicothe Paints have selected a Chillicothe native and Zane Trace graduate to serves as the team s new Field Manager.
The Paints issued the following release on Tuesday, February 16:
The Chillicothe Paints, presented by Adena Health System, announced Tuesday the hiring of Chillicothe native John Penn as its new field manager ahead of the coming season, which begins Thursday, May 27. I m just very thankful and humbled for the doors that have opened up for me to be able to take this roll, Penn said. I m looking forward to a great season. The Paints are a team with high standards and, technically speaking, are the defending champs. It should be exciting. I know Brian [Mannino] is doing a fantastic job of getting the right guys for us to make a run at another title.
