Broncos coach Kevin Walters is confident his team can handle the red-hot form of Manly star Tom Trbojevic as stats reveal the Sea Eagles fullback is creating big plays almost every six times he touches the ball. Since returning from a hamstring strain four weeks ago, Trbojevic has racked up incredible numbers ... five tries, eight try assists and seven line break assists from just 130 touches of the ball. Trbojevic’s stunning form to spark a Manly revival prompted former Broncos great Steve R...

With Chanel Harris-Tavita returning from a foot injury last week for the first time since round two, Brown injected Walsh into the game with 26 minutes to play in last Sunday’s disastrous 38-32 loss to Manly. Playing in the halves, the former Bronco made an immediate impact with a line break, a try assist, two tackle breaks and a try of his own. David Neilson/Photosport It was confirmed on Tuesday that Peta Hiku’s shoulder injury will rule him out for the rest of the season. But Walsh o...

"They could have told us ten minutes in so I couldve changed it in the dressing room. But they told us as we were running out on the field. "I had to make a split-second change as we were running out on the field. It’s ridiculous, its incompetent to not see that. "Guy goes to hospital and then how long would that? 20 minutes later, you put him on report. "Its ridiculous. That wasnt good enough tonight." To add insult to injury, James Tedesco was caught with a heavy high shot earlier in the sa...

Parramatta are planning to welcome back big guns Nathan Brown and Waqa Blake in Magic Round to offset potential suspensions for Dylan Brown and Marata Niukore out of Fridays win over the Roosters. Brown and Niukore were both put on report in a drama-charged affair at Bankwest Stadium that saw the Eels eventually prevail 31-18 to claim an impressive 8-1 start to the season. The pair were both charged by the NRLs match review committee on Saturday, with Brown facing a suspension of 3-4 weeks and ...

The NRL has stood down the bunker officials central to what Trent Robinson described as the "incompetent" and "ridiculous" handing of an incident that that saw Roosters five-eighth Drew Hutchison hospitalised in a 31-18 loss to the Eels on Friday night. NRL head of football Graham Annesley said early on Saturday morning that the performance of the NRL video bunker, led by senior official Steve Chiddy, "did not meet our expectations". Chiddy was scheduled to act as lead review official in the bu...

Clint Gutherson has showed again he is turning into the No.1 man Parramatta want him to be, starring in their 32-10 NRL win over Canterbury. In a clinical performance, the Eels led from the outset and quickly put paid to any hopes of a Bulldogs comeback early in the second half after two straight tries. It took them to 7-1 for just the fifth time in their history, with the Eels now second on the table and behind only western Sydney rival Penrith at the top. The only issue came in the form of a ...

"To win a competition, if it means I’ve got to pick up dog poo for the rest of my life, I’m happy to do that." Brad Arthur offered up that backyard analogy the day before his season started, referencing a long-held, yet to be delivered promise to his daughter – the Arthurs get a family pooch when Parramatta gets a premiership. In most eyes, the Eels summer at the market saw them pick up a mismatch of mongrels and bitsers that wouldnt amount to much. But with bargain buys Isaiah Papalii, T...

Cartwright finds NRL home at Parramatta AAP 3 hrs ago Pamela Whaley © Darren England/AAP PHOTOS Bryce Cartwright has found a home at Parramatta after an unhappy stint at the Gold Coast Titans. Sitting in the hospital after another NRL career setback, Bryce Cartwright foolishly believed Blake Ferguson was calling to apologise for the stray boot that broke his jaw in a training mishap. "I thought he mustve been checking in on me to see if Im all right," Cartwright said. "But...

A "few expletives" from Mitch Moses, a blunt assessment from Brad Arthur and even a stray, jaw-breaking boot from Blake Ferguson has one-time Panthers prodigy Bryce Cartwright feeling the love at a Parramatta club he grew up hating. Cartwrights third outing in blue and gold, albeit against a hapless Broncos outfit, was his best NRL game in years as he bagged a try, helped set up two more and finished with 129 running metres off the Eels bench. Now 26, Cartwright copped an estimated $350,000 pay...
