Labelled as Case 59522, the woman works as a sales personnel at BS Industrial & Construction Supply Pte Ltd, said the ministry in its full data released here late last night. The ministry said she is a co-worker of Case 59429, a 39 year-old male Singapore Permanent Resident who works as a sales personnel at the same place. He was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection on Jan 18, it said.

SINGAPORE (Jan 22): A 46-year-old female Malaysian was among the four new cases of locally transmitted Covid-19 infections reported in Singapore yesterday, according to the republic’s Ministry of Health (MOH). Labelled as Case 59513, the work pass holder works as a sales personnel at Toppan Merrill Pte Ltd of Church Street, but does not interact with clients, said the ministry in its full data released here late last night. The ministry said that she is a household contact of Case 59474, a 28-year-old female Malaysian who works as finance personnel at BS Industrial & Construction Supply Pte Ltd and was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection on Jan 20.

This brings the total number of cases reported in Singapore to 59,250. One new community case The new community case, Case 59522, is linked to the cluster at BS Industrial & Construction Supply Pte Ltd, at 34 Kallang Place. Case 59522 is a 26 year-old female Malaysian national who works as a sales personnel at the company. She is a co-worker of Case 59429, the first case to be confirmed out of the eight currently in the cluster. She was placed on quarantine on Jan. 18 when Case 59429 was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection. On January 20, she was tested for Covid-19 even though she is asymptomatic. Her test came back positive the next day, and she was conveyed to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).

One (Case 59514) is a Short-Term Visit Pass holder who arrived from India to visit her child who is a Singapore Permanent Resident. Two (Cases 59479 and 59515) are Special Pass holders who are sea crew. Case 59479 arrived from Indonesia to board a vessel docked in Singapore, and Case 59515 arrived onboard a vessel from Indonesia and had not disembarked. He was tested for Covid-19, and conveyed to the hospital when his result came back positive.
