A man who was riding a jet ski Thursday afternoon at Buckeye Lake died in an apparent drowning.
Boaters called 911 around 4 p.m. after discovering an unresponsive man in the water, said Buckeye Lake Fire Department Chief Ryan Wyse.
The man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Stephanie O Grady, a spokeswoman for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
The 3,100-acre lake is the main attraction at Buckeye Lake State Park, which spans Fairfield, Licking and Perry counties, drawing tourists from around central Ohio for boating and fishing.
ODNR is leading the investigation and did not immediately release further information.
