Realty firm Supertech whose multi-crore residential project -- the twin towers, have been demolished in Noidas Sector 93-A on the orders of the Supreme Court on Sunday said the building plans including the twin towers were approved by the Noida Authority in 2009, and were in accordance with the then prevailing Building Bye laws of the state government.

The Supertech Twin Towers in Noida were demolished today in a massive explosion. Over 3,700 kg of explosives were used to bring the two towers down, resulting in a sea of smoke and debri engulfing the area.

These twin towers were located at the ‘Supertech Emerald Court’ housing society Sector 93A in Noida. For the demolition, around 3,700 kg of explosives - a mix of dynamite, emulsions and plastic explosives - was used.

The company has awarded the work of demolition to a world renowned agency Edifice Engineering which has expertise in carrying out safe demolitions.

With the demolition done, the next challenge for Noida authorities is to clean the mountain of debris generated due to the demolition.
