Announcement. Welcome to the Building Inspection Commission for december 18, 2019. Happy holidays. I am Vice President filling in for president mccarthy who is away dealing with a family matter. I spoke to him this morning, and as i will get to later, this is the last meeting for many of us, and he has some he asked me to pass along greetings, and i will when i get to that matter. I would like to thank the Department Staff who have been and still are attending the California Building officials Training Classes this week. Every year our Staff Members almost all of them are required to take classes and be up to speed on current code and issues in the building industry, and our staff attends these trainings at least once a year to refresh and enhance Technical Skills to continue to provide excellent customer service. Everyone in the city benefits from these continuing education opportunities. Our opportunities that we on this commission enthusiastically support and encourage. It is import
Tears that you put in to making this happen because it was almost impossible. It truly was almost impossible. I couldnt find a way out and you did. That is why the people of district nine and the latin ex communities forever grateful to you four. You dont just do this every day of your lives creating miracles in your own organizations and for your community, but on top of what you do every day, you took on one of the hardest projects and you made it happen and you are all in my book heroes. I cannot thank you enough. I could not have more respect for you and i salute you all. You are amazing. Congratulations and thank you. Well, my thoughts on that, they have to get an l. L. P. Because they have no choice. If they have had a history they have security not just for the place but for their own other patrons. Maybe if you dont want to do metal detection, maybe they can do pat downs to just see. I think were getting tricky because its getting invasive. Its in condition five. I think if we do Something Like this, we have to very strategic about it, but i defer to my colleagues. Yeah, and i understand its just a bar, but because the past history, i think we should all be a little cautious.
