Publicly named and arrested a suspect in the kidnapping, rape, and murder of a 14year old girl who had her whole life ahead of her. . Shortly before 5 pm this afternoon, Antioch Police made an arrest for the june 1980 abduction, rape, and murder of the 14yearold. Reporter the police chief said that the 63yearold was arrested in his antioch home without incident. The suspect is a sex offender with a rap sheet that dated back to 1973 for crimes including burglary and sodomy. We are static that the arrest was made. It will not bring suzanne back into her familys lives. Reporter it was a case that grabbed headlines back in 1980, the first day of summer, the 14 yearold was kidnapped while babysitting.
