AUBURN Central Maine Community College has hired new employees in finance, CMCC’s Center for Workforce and Professional Development, the Building Construction Technology program and the TRIO grant.
Allie Johnson
Allie Johnson has been hired as the associate dean of Finance and General Services. Johnson comes to CMCC after seven years at CIEE in senior operations and five years at Norway Savings Bank in financial services. She holds two bachelor degrees from the University of Southern Maine and an Masters of Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University. Johnson also holds all Maine insurance licenses and a Maine Producer license.
BSU TO HOST FAMU RECRUITMENT MEETING AT CHIPOLA
MARIANNA Florida A and M University will present a Pathways to Professions in Agriculture and Food Sciences Conference, Thursday, Feb. 11, at Chipola College.
The conference begins at 12 Noon in room C104 of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Building. Only 15 seats will be available. Masks are required and CDC guidelines for social-distancing will be followed.

MARIANNA The Chipola College Academic Center for Excellence is now offering free tutoring both in-person and online.
The popular spot on the college campus was forced to go virtual with the COVID pandemic. In the Fall 2020 term, ACE tutors conducted 500 sessions through ACE @ Home.
Students who are struggling with homework or preparing for tests, can stop by the ACE or make an appointment for online tutoring. The ACE offers free tutoring for almost every course offered at Chipola. Students also can get individual assistance or attend scheduled review sessions for that next big test.
Sessions are conducted by student peer tutors, as well as volunteers from the Chipola faculty. Computers also are available for class assignments and projects. Students can also join study groups with other students from the same classes.
Wilkes Community College
Lowe’s, through its Generation T and Heroes programs at the Wilkesboro Store Support Center in North Carolina, has donated $10,000 to the Wilkes Community College (WCC) Building Construction program for tools, equipment, and supplies.
“I would like to say thank you on behalf of the WCC Building Construction program for the Lowe’s donation, says said Shane Allen, WCC lead instructor of the Building Construction Technology program. This money will provide students with the materials and tools needed to help students complete life projects in their pathway to graduating with a two-year degree in Building Construction Technology.”
