Bobby Fujimoto was a staunch advocate of higher education who served on the UH Board of Regents from 1979 to 1987, including as its chair from 1981 to 1983. He made generous donations to UH and also served as a trustee of the UH Foundation.

The HPM Foundation has made a five-year pledge totaling $100,000 to the University of Hawai‘i Foundation to provide college scholarships for students enrolled at University of Hawai‘i campuses across the state.
