officials and many concerned senators and members of congress arguing that the u.s. is exposed now that this programs has lapsed, there are a lot of other people who say not so much. you mentioned lone wolf provision hasn t even been used but they want to make sure they have the tools in their quiver and why you have folks working here to get that law renewed. it looks as though right now there will be a vote, final passage on the usa freedom act that the house passed, that makes some revisions to these programs, by as early as tomorrow. this could be resolved relatively soon. it will still take another 24 hours to get the bulk program up and running even if they make changes to it, the data collection. i always think those bells might mean something, might be calling you for some developments here. you ve worked a long week and i think your job is not going to be over until we get some of the developments. update us when you can. thanks. always nice to have athena with us. terro
president obama to end the nsa s domestic bulk program which is the first program that we reported with the snowden documents. do you share that view? do you think those disclosures are leading potentially positive reforms now? well, i do. i think the fact is, i think the president should let the program expire. one good thing in the patriot act is that it had an expiration date. let it expire. we can do that. in fact, if it came up for a vote in the house to reauthorize it, i think it would go down and go down hard. and i think that the president s acknowledging that with this effort. and, you know, the bulk data program, the nsa overreach, it s just endless. and it s got to be curbed and there s a lot of bipartisan support to the store. a better balance to respect individual liberties along with security. congressman, the house is dysfunctional. i think everybody understands that and it s probably going to be that way for several years. do you ever get tired of the uphill battle,
