June 1, marks the first day for the Cody Nite Rodeo at the Rodeo Capital of the World. Every night until September, there’s a rodeo in town.
After a hard year with COVID-19, the Cody Night Rodeo is opening up to full capacity. Last year, the rodeo season was in question due to the pandemic. But the Rodeo fought hard to have their rodeo season and was successful
The general manager of the Cody Stampede Ed Bednarz expects great crowds coming into the 2021 season.
“Based on our pre-sales, we are through the roof,” Bednarz said. “It’s looking like our centennial year if not better depending on the rodeo. It is looking like a busy season.”

Texas bullfighter Weston Rutkowski does not run away when there’s a bull in the rodeo arena, he runs towards it.
At this year’s Buffalo Bill Rodeo, Rutkowski, 32, will step in during the bull riding with fellow bullfighter, Zach Call, to distract bulls after each ride and give the bull rider time to scramble to safety.
Growing up with his mother earning the 1976 Miss Rodeo Texas title and his uncles who rode saddle broncs in Cleburne Texas, Rutkowski had strong ties to the rodeo from an early age and felt like he was destined to follow a similar path.
