This week, the second Sunday of Advent, let’s hear it from my dear colleague and “partner,” the associate editor of this paper, book author, and editor, Jullie Yap Daza with her tribute for the “First Gentleman” in our media forum, Bulong Pulungan (which lasted 36 years at Sofi

ANGEL THOUGHTS
Meet this talented artist friend of mine who lives a “double life,” enjoying both worlds as a known handblown glass and metal sculptor and now a farmer.

Let me pay tribute to our long-time colleague and editor in this paper who passed away last April 5, Crispulo Icban Jr., everyone’s “Sir Jun” or “Mang June.”
A bright self-effacing man, excellent editor, everybody’s friend, and mentor to all the reporters and aspiring section editors in the paper, he favored no one. In all his long years with the company, (47 years) he did not have an “enemy.”
“He played fair to everyone,” a pillar in the public relations industry told us.
Aspiring journalist-contributors, struggling public relations practitioners, aspiring reporters – everyone knew him as a very generous and humble man, with all his talents, and “power” in the editorial room.

In my eyes she was simply Mom, who took care of me. Mom who brought me to the Pasig, Columbian and Philippine Plaza tennis courts. Mom who brought me to the Manila Bulletin and Philippine Star offices. Mom who brought me along to numerous press conferences,
