St. Louis man faces new charges Scott Cousins, scousins@thetelegraph.com FacebookTwitterEmail Barber EDWARDSVILLE A man shot by a Madison County deputy in Missouri Dec. 30 following an alleged armed robbery in Glen Carbon and subsequent car chase now faces additional charges for two similar incidents in local store parking lots. Earl A. Barber, 41, of Ferguson, was charged Jan. 12 with two counts of attempt armed robbery, both Class 1 felonies; unlawful possession of weapons by a felon, a Class 3 felony related to a Dec. 27 incident in Collinsville; and three separate charges of theft from the person, all Class 3 felonies, stemming from incidents in Collinsville on Dec. 1, Glen Carbon on Dec. 4 and Edwardsville on Dec. 14.

1 man dead, 1 man injured in St Louis County shooting

Updated: 12:43 PM CST December 18, 2020 ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. A man was killed and another was seriously injured during a shooting in St. Louis County Thursday night. Around 9:21 p.m., police responded to the scene in the 8700 block of Link Avenue off of North Hanley Road, just south of Interstate 70 in north county.  Officers found two men with gunshot wounds. One man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as 40-year-old Jerry Monroe, who also lived in the 8700 block of Link. The other man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The police department s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons is investigating.
