The Hawk Eye A few hundred people came out to the riverfront Tuesday evening for Burlington s first National Night Out event in 10 years. For some, the event was a chance for the public and first responders to get to meet one another and hopefully establish a sense of trust moving forward.  Whereas Burlington s National Night Out events in the past tended to be more focused on police, this year s revamped version was an effort to include all area first responders and familiarize the public with their local service organizations. Members of the Burlington and West Burlington police and fire departments, Iowa National Guard, Iowa State Patrol and several other area first responders and service organizations made appearances.
