but the federal government and the state governments work together all the time on these matters. i mean, they work together and they you know, they help each other and they and there s a not on constitutional law to do that. but the government has in place to train them. you have to go through a whole training program. if the federal government doesn t enforce the laws, the states are left to do nothing, right? the states have to say ok, we re not going to enforce those. they are enforcing the law but i think the bigger issue is economic and that s why he said the polls are such, people are worried about jobs. immigration is always the hottest button issue in bad economic times because of the jobs. so i think that that s where the heat is. but bashing the hispanic minority vote is not a good g.o.p. long-term strategy. george w. bush, you know i don t say a lot of things he does was right. he got it right. all right, nancy, almost out of time. we appreciate it, laura. t
