Robert Gorham, a well known and respected Buxton firefighter and community volunteer, died last week as the result of a gas explosion at a home in Montville.

One man died in the blast Wednesday at the house on Darci Lane, and two men who were outside at the time died later of their injuries, according to officials.

The NDHP, Buxton Fire, Hillsboro Ambulance and Traill County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash.

Local officials say an equipment malfunction caused the used restaurant oil to leak onto Route 202.
