Baltimore’s employees will be banned from using the social media app TikTok as a result of cybersecurity concerns surrounding the platform, which is tied to the Chinese government.

Without much fanfare or public announcement, the State of Delaware has banned the controversial app TikTok from government devices. A memorandum sent to all State of Delaware Computing network users earlier this month lays out the reasoning behind the move.

It turns out, the algorithm doesn't determine everything.

In a unanimous vote this week, Cleveland County commissioners opted to ban TikTok from all county-owned devices. The move closely follows a Dec. 8 executive order issued by Gov. Kevin Stitt.
