Uber will open up its platform to Londons black cabs next year, the ride-hailing firm said on Wednesday, trying to win over the British capitals taxis after a decade of tensions.

The panel has recommended that taxi aggregators like Uber and Ola be fined every time a driver cancels a ride without confirmation from the passenger.

According to a member of the association, in 2020 they had asked the transport department to fix the price of the meter charge of the vehicle. However, due to covid and later other engagements, it wasn’t confirmed. In March 2023, an order by the state government stated that the fixed charge of meters for every one km is Rs 16 and four km to be fixed at Rs 60. And the drivers have been following this.
