A man arrested this week on suspicion of child sexual abuse was arraigned on newly filed charges Thursday. Nelson Nieves, 34, has been charged in 1st District Court with four first-degree felonies: two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, sodomy on a child and rape of a child. Nieves appeared in court via video conference call from the Cache County Jail where he has been held since Tuesday. SALT LAKE CITY — Utahs number of COVID-19 cases has increased by 2,574 on Wednesday, with 23 more deaths reported, according to the Utah Department of Health.
