(UPDATE) HUNDREDS of people fled their homes as floods unleashed by Super Typhoon Goring (international name Saola) swept through rural villages in the northeastern Philippines, rescue officials said Sunday.

SIGNAL No. 1 has been hoisted over at least three provinces in Northern Luzon as Tropical Storm Goring slightly intensifies while moving slowly on its track, state weather bureau Pagasa said Friday.
