The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has criticized the delay in implementing a national e-commerce policy and consumer protection rules, claiming it has allowed foreign e-commerce players to harm domestic retail trade. CAIT expressed concern over the delay, stating that it has caused significant losses for small and medium retail traders and has forced many to close their businesses.
The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) sent a written communication in this regard to Minister for Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and Textiles, Piyush Goyal on Tuesday.

Last week, CAIT called out the advertisement with Bachchan promoting Flipkarts upcoming Big Billion Day sale and telling consumers that deals on mobiles wont be available offline at retail stores. The Big Billion Days sale is slated to take place from October 8-15.
