The Calcutta High Court on Friday ordered the removal of Mithilesh Kumar Mishra, the Assistant Director, ED, from the SIT investigating the 'school jobs for cash' scam case.
The Calcutta High Court has ordered the West Bengal government to make sure that none of its authorities entertain any complaint against SIT members probing the 'school jobs for cash' scam.
Single-judge Justice Amrita Sinha pulled up the ED for not properly investigating the school jobs for cash scam case, particularly the involvement of Banerjee in the scam.
The ED told the Calcutta High Court that it does not intend to use the 16 files downloaded from the computer of a firm linked to Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee as evidence in any probe against him.
While the ED claims its officer used the firm's computer to check his child's hostel details, the TMC leader has alleged before the Calcutta High Court that the officer downloaded 16 files from the said computer.
