The Athletic dropped an interesting nugget Monday when it reported that the Las Vegas Raiders’ expect undrafted free agent wide receiver Dillon Stoner to make the 53-man roster.
It’s fascinating that the team thinks an undrafted rookie will make the roster this early in the process. Clearly, Stoner must be standing out in the OTA sessions. Related
But there is a long way to go. He will need to shine throughout training camp and in the preseason. Additionally, Stoner’s journey is interesting because the Raiders have a crowded group at wide receiver. It will be difficult for any undrafted player to crack the 53-man roster at wide receiver. The Raiders will probably keep six receivers, perhaps they can carry seven if it is warranted, but that’s pretty rare and would take away from another spot on the roster.

The ceremony had the traditional accessories, such as recognition for academic achievements, instrumental and vocal music, and public addresses, but it also featured safety precautions of facemasks and social-distancing caused by the year-long coronavirus pandemic.
Isabel Gors, an MHS graduate who provided a student address, spoke of challenges during the 2020-21 school year when the Madison students expected disruptions and cancellations due to COVID-19 cases. Gors, who plans to study diagnostic medicine at Southeast Technical College in Sioux Falls, said the seniors and other students learned certain skills during the pandemic, such as adjusting to unforeseen circumstances and overcoming challenges.

Former Clemson Tigers quarterback Trevor Lawrence had good reason to hold his pro day on Friday, a month early. Lawrence wanted to prove to NFL teams that he's able to handle himself well when things don't go according to plan.
"The original plan was to have two months training out in California, then come back March 11th and put on a show and do all that, but life happens sometimes," Lawrence said on the ACC Network/ESPN2 following his 45-minute workout at Clemson on Friday. "Just having to adjust and showing I'm able to adjust and adapt and still willing to come out here and throw and give teams a chance to see me, that was important to me and important to my team to make sure we made that happen.

After undergoing a temperature check and picking up wristbands at the Colony Theatre box office, theatergoers head west across Lenox Avenue to a pop-up, open-air bar called Purgatory, at the center of the 1100 block.
There, under the stars, with celestial white lights, devilish red ones, and burning tiki torches decorating the space, singer Kareema Khouri and keyboard player/musical director Wilkie Ferguson kick things off with theme-appropriate numbers such as “Sinner Man” and “Fever.” The passion driving her singing and his playing underscores the joy of performers and audiences reunited.
