A former California government agency employee has become a YIMBY folk hero of sorts for building an apartment unit for himself within an existing train station.
A former Caltrain employee and a former TransAmerica Services Inc. employee are both being charged with two counts of felony embezzlement for allegedly remodeling sections of the Burlingame and Millbrae

The victim, a 26-year-old Filipina medical worker who requested to be identified only as Tiffany, was on her way to work in Palo Alto when a man approached her at the San Jose Caltrain station at around 6:30 a.m. on March 10, according to a report by KTVU NEWS.
The suspect, identified as Johan Strydom, suddenly grabbed Tiffany’s neck from behind, pulled her hair back, and cursed at her, the report said.
“He was saying f-u, f-u Asian, this is completely bull,” said Tiffany. “All while he was keeping me on the ground with his grip on my hair.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KTVU) - A 32-year-old man has been formally charged with a hate crime following the alleged sexual assault of an Asian woman at a San Jose Caltrain station earlier this week.
The Santa Clara County District Attorney s Office said the suspect, Johan Strydom, grabbed the woman by the neck at the Diridon train station, pulled her to the ground, and tossed her from side to side by her hair.
During the incident, Strydom told the woman, F- you Asians, the district attorney s office said, adding he intended to rape her.
