Greetings from Capps. Life in the "Heat dome", otherwise known as the dog days of summer, continues. My poor dog gave me the, "Just shoot me now" look one day last week. Lots of water and ice to go around. I cut hay and baled last week in the heat. It was nearly unbearable once the humidity came up. Still waiting for some parts for my tractor so I can finish up. While serving in our nation’s armed forces, we’re trained to “work the problem,” especially in challenging combat situations. One needs to be creative and find ways to adapt and overcome. This usually involves looking well “outside the box” for solutions. At Camp Jack, we’ve pretty much thrown the box away as typical procedures and resources to help our local veterans and their families doesn’t get the job done.

Camp Jack was created to help veterans and their families, but a wonderful derivative of this endeavor is having the facilities and staff to provide fun entertainment and events for this amazing community. Our volunteers love putting these together and the way you have supported them is remarkable.
