Letters to the Editor Thursday, Feb. 4 | The Daily Gazette

Letters to the Editor Thursday, Feb. 4 | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS The biggest game of the year is right around the corner, the Super Bowl. We’ve been watching and hearing about it on the news, sports stations, reading about it in the newspapers and talking about it at work or school. It’s impossible to escape the buzz around the “big game.” The Super Bowl is also one of the biggest betting events of the year. From workplace environments betting on squares, to a host of online bets and...

Your Views: Letters to the Editor

Observer-Dispatch Thank you for reporting on climate change I want to thank the Observer-Dispatch for its continued coverage of the response to climate change. I was particularly happy to see that much of your latest article, “Cuomo doubles down on green energy projects,” (O-D Jan. 19) was dedicated to the infrastructure projects that will create for New York State a green “energy superhighway.” This type of reporting is essential. While projects like energy transmission lines are not ...

Letters to the Editor Saturday, Jan. 16 | The Daily Gazette

Letters to the Editor Saturday, Jan. 16 | The Daily Gazette SECTIONS Trump brought all this upon himself I am amused (dumbfounded?) by the Letters to the Editor saying Trump has been a victim of baseless media attacks. The latest said he has suffered “death by a thousand cuts.” If there were a train wreck each day and the media reported it, would that mean the media had something against railroads? Ex-employees and family confirm that he is a dangerous, narcissistic sociopath. Trump has alm...

Cervical cancer can be prevented | News, Sports, Jobs

There are two ways to prevent cervical cancer — vaccination and screening. The human papilloma virus (HPV) causes nearly all cases of cervical cancer and several other cancers. The HPV vaccine prevents about 90 percent of HPV-related cancers, including cervical. The HPV vaccine is recommended for boys and girls between the ages of 9 and 14, and young adults through age 26. Cervical cancer screening tests can find the cells that lead to cancer before it starts. These cells can then be remov...

Letters to the Editor: Dec. 21, 2020

TO THE EDITOR: Congresswoman Elise Stefanik is dangerous. She backs Texas and 17 other swing states that went for Biden. There is no evidence of voter fraud. State officials, including Republicans, did their jobs and ensured an honest election. The right loves to paint the left as lawless, but I can’t think of anything more unconstitutional than saying that millions of votes don’t count. Worse, these lawless Republicans focus on cities like Detroit and Philadelphia with high prop...

Colon cancer screening can continue during coronavirus | News, Sports, Jobs

To the editor: People may wonder if it’s safe to see their health care provider for routine care like cancer screening. Most health care providers are taking extra steps so that office visits can be done safely, but there is also one routine cancer screening that can be done at home — colon cancer screening. The Cancer Services Program of Northeastern NY wants your readers to know that they don’t have to keep putting off their colon cancer screening. Many people can use the take-home F...
