There are more kayakers than ever, said Mike Parker, communications director with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. People are itching to get out this spring, he said. Last year, we sold 40% more launch permits than we did in 2019.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Fish and Boat Commission has advocated for outdoor activities, saying activities like fishing, kayaking and others can be done safely.
