prominent gay rights activist has been murdered according to his lawyer. a friend found his bludgeoned body in his home outside of cap pala yesterday and alerted friends and family. kato was one of several ugandans outed last year in a gay hit list that called for their hanging. i spoke to david kato in october, and even then he expressed fear about his security. >> there's space in uganda to be a man and openly gay right now. >> no, we don't have that. by the way, the problem here is identity. i can deal with you my friend, when you know i'm gay, we can drink and eat together, the minute i identify i'm gay, then the problem comes. >> reporter: people don't know the outcome? >> no, you open up. there's a plan for yourself. so the villagers like to set my how's ablaze. they want to burn my house.
