Lucky Pigeon Brewing’s head brewer, Scott Nebel, formerly of Maine Beer Co., is experimenting with several styles, including IPAs, a brown ale and a Kolsch-style blonde. The co-owners of the business – Kathleen Pigeon, Bev Pigeon, Nic Bramer and Lesley Bramer – are raising money for a canning machine on indiegogo.com. So far they’ve raised just over $2,000 of their $20,000 goal.
2021 Commissioner s Distinguished Service Award Recipient
Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry (DACF) Commissioner Amanda Beal announced at the virtual Agricultural Trades Show that the Commissioner s Distinguished Service Award recipient for 2021 is Penelope (Penny) Jordan, a fourth-generation farmer in Cape Elizabeth, and local community organizer.

She was instrumental in starting the Cape Farm Alliance and is a past president and 12-year member of the Maine Farm Bureau.
