Autopsy shows Cape Girardeau Co. inmate died from cardiac arrest

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - An autopsy on Tuesday, January 19 showed a Cape Girardeau County inmate died from cardiac arrest.
The 60-year-old inmate was found dead in his cell at the Justice Center on Saturday, January 16.
According to Sheriff Ruth Ann Dickerson, they were notified of the inmate’s death by his cellmate.
She said staff immediately responded and used an AED, as well as CPR until medical personnel arrived.
