Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023 -- Last March, Gov. Roy Cooper, with state legislative leaders beaming beside him, signed the bill expanding Medicaid with the expectation that it would become effective no later than early July. It now seems possible that Medicaid expansion might not happen, if at all, before December. This is an unacceptable delay and the legislature can easily act quickly to take care of it.

Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2023 -- Legislators, now more than a month late delivering a budget and critical Medicaid expansion, are challenged enough to do the job THEY are elected to do. They need to stop encroaching on the responsibilities and tasks North Carolina elects the governor to do.

Saturday, July 15, 2023 -- Rather than unnecessarily and carelessly encroaching on the duties and responsibility of the governor while pursuing an unnecessary and divisive culture war agenda, Senate leader Phil Berger and House Speaker Tim Moore would be better to focus on doing their job as legislators -- working to give all kids access to a quality education, provide access to health care for all who need it and improve the overall quality of life in the state.
