Santa Cruz County bibliophiles who want to hear in-depth discussions with their favorite authors will soon have one more avenue to do so. Santa Cruz Public Libraries will be launching its Virtual Author Talk platform to bring these discussions right into library patrons' homes.
The proposed contract scope includes construction of an amphitheater, fencing, seating and picnic tables, repair of the grand staircase and other historical elements, a drinking fountain, lighting, irrigation and civil site improvements, according to the staff report.
As part of the new recruitment effort, city staff will communicate directly with local nonprofits, institutions and community groups including the Diversity Center, NAACP, local union groups, Cabrillo College, various mental and behavioral health organizations and more.
