Authorities say the fire burned through 18 homes and now is threatening 1500 others. Mandatory evacuation orders are in place for communities near the firelines. Last we heard from firefighters, 50 acres have burned and you can see the charred hillside. Crews have been using heavy equipment to build a containment line. This chp had to top traffic on Franklin Canyon road because of downed power lines. Its unclear if the power lines caused the fire or came down because of the fire. Crews are making progress. Flames are now fully contained on the north site. Fire on the south site is 35 contained. Firefighters say structures are threatened.
