New Brunswick reported 111 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday and announced it's reducing the time people 50 and older have to wait to get their COVID-19 vaccine booster shot to five months.

Retail stores, malls, salons and spas will have to enforce physical distancing, or if they opt out, can choose to require proof of vaccination instead.

The majority of the new cases are in the Moncton and Saint John regions.

Outbreaks have been declared in two units of Saint John Regional Hospital, and the province has begun vaccinating children ages 5 to 11.
