Roanoke officials and clergy launched an effort Sept. 8 to declare a "ceasefire" in the city s gun violence. Ten days later, the city marked its 24th homicide of 2023 on Sunday, a fatal shooting in northwest.
On Saturday August 12th Roanoke Police learned a person with a gunshot wound in the 100 block of Patton Avenue NW. Responding officers located a juvenile male victim lying outside of a residence in the area with what appeared to be a critical gunshot wound.
