Board approves resolution directing department heads to delay any unnecessary purchases
BELMONT — Allegany County is keeping its fiscal belt pulled tight entering 2021.
The Board of Legislators approved a resolution Monday directing department heads to delay any unnecessary purchases through the state fiscal year ending March 31, 2021.
The move was made “in order to mitigate any potential revenue losses and increases in expenses associated with the COVID-19 pandemic,” as “Allegany County will likely face unprecedented fiscal challenges unplanned for in its current 2021 budget” adopted by the Board of Legislators on Nov. 23, 2020.
The county passed a similar measure in 2020.
