Guest columnist Michael Alterman: Revisiting Shays’s Rebellion Published: 3/5/2021 2:32:46 PM Guest columnist Carl Hammer clearly knows a good deal about Shays’s Rebellion (“Shays’ Rebellion Feb. 4, 1787 and Jan. 6, 2021,” Feb. 5), but not enough to provide an accurate history, let alone to draw analogies to the Capitol riot of Jan. 6. Any account of the rebellion must begin with an understanding of the grave injustices that occasioned it.
