FORT ATKINSON, Wisconsin (WDJT) Two boys are dead after they were trapped inside a Fort Atkinson house fire Saturday, Jan. 23.
The Fort Atkinson Fire Department said they were called at 3:23 a.m. to respond to the 400 block of Milo Street.
Snow and icicles now hang off the charred remains of the home.
Alejandro Perez said his brother Bryan Palacios-Perez, 14, wanted to be a doctor.
“I just want you guys to know that he was a hero and my nephew was one of the most loving kids you guys ever would have met,” Perez told CBS 58.
Family friend, Carly Salazar, said Bryan’s father was in the basement Saturday morning when he smelled smoke.

FORT ATKINSON (WKOW) While a Fort Atkinson family mourns the loss of a teen and his nephewin a house fire early Saturday morning, their community is doing everything they can to lift some weight off their shoulders.
Carly Salazar s son Jaime is struggling with the loss of his best friend. They went to school together, they were in the same class every year from 4k up until high school, Salazar said.
She visited the Palacios-Perez family Sunday to see what they needed and learned what happened.
She says the dad smelled smoke and hopped into action in the middle of the night.
